Jake Gyllenhall Kills for The Shoes

The new video for 'Time to Dance' by electro pop duo The Shoes, features a totally psychotic Jake Gyllenhall. The handsome blue-eyed, dark-haired Ken doll that is Gyllenhall plays a crazy killer slaughtering people left and right. The eight-minute video (more like music video meets disturbing short film) was directed by Daniel Wolfe.

Frankly the video makes me uneasy. Not in the least because it stars someone who once played Bubble Boy as an ice cold killer. As Gyllenhall goes from scene to scene initiating one blood bath after another, you can hear The Shoes in the background screaming and electric guitars going off. Suddenly the song takes a turn and gets less dark rock and more dance scene electro then all you hear is "...and then it's time to dance!" which is playing all kinds of tricks on my mind. I'm assuming that's the point. If so, well done...? Perhaps I'm just not "artistic" enough for this.

Peep the video below and let me know what you think.

Milla Jovovich Gets Buzzed for Love Magazine

The bad ass Resident Evil actress joins the club of women with half-buzzed haircuts for the fun and edgy Love Magazine. The avante-garde look was snipped by buzz-famed Christiaan (Christiaan Houtenbos) during Milla's Love Magazine shoot last night and they tweeted this pic of the new 'do.

I actually love the look on Milla because in my mind she's a superhero. What do you think? Yea or nay?

Look for Less: Jessica Alba in Diane von Furstenberg

Jessica Alba, forever a DvF girl, wore this nude dress to the designer's 3rd Annual Awards last Friday. The long sleeved sequin number is from Diane von Furstenberg's Fall 2012 collection, for the occasion Jessica paired it with opaque tights and black Louboutins. I could do without the tights and black shoes but the dress I actually think is both adorable and sexy.

You can get the look with this nude 3/4 sleeve TFNC Sequin Dress from Asos for under $100:

Perfect for so many occasions. Just as good as the little black dress if you ask me.

Look for Less: Louis Vuitton Metal-Capped Pumps

Every version of these Louis Vuitton metal toe capped pumps have been seen on everyone from Natalia Vodianova, Kristen Stewart, to fashion 'It Girl' Alexa Chung and I can definitely understand why. I particularly like this Fairytale pump:

But with a US$1060 price tag can I just say - OUCH. Realistically speaking though that is deemed affordable based on the prices upwards of $3,000 that I've seen attached to shoes. Coveting the look, I went off in search of similar (read: regular-not-rich-people affordable) alternatives for budget fashionistas like myself.

First we have an almost precisely duplicated Stuart Weitzman version, Capsize, coming in at US$375 (still high):

Also we have the Topshop strapless version with a rose gold metal cap in lieu of the silver, the GABBY Metal Toecap Points, at US$100 (bless their hearts):

Worth it right? Oh yeah.

Nicki Minaj for Allure Magazine

Nicki Minaj dons another one of her crazy fun wigs on the cover of Allure's April issue. The rapper, who is fond of switching up her look with wigs and haute couture outfits, plays dress up in candy colours for the magazine. "Nicki basically owns pink," said her hair stylist Terrence Davidson, who took two days to create this pink piece.

See excerpts from her interview at Allure and also check out her style timeline for her comments on her different looks.
