Look for Less: Louis Vuitton Metal-Capped Pumps

Every version of these Louis Vuitton metal toe capped pumps have been seen on everyone from Natalia Vodianova, Kristen Stewart, to fashion 'It Girl' Alexa Chung and I can definitely understand why. I particularly like this Fairytale pump:

But with a US$1060 price tag can I just say - OUCH. Realistically speaking though that is deemed affordable based on the prices upwards of $3,000 that I've seen attached to shoes. Coveting the look, I went off in search of similar (read: regular-not-rich-people affordable) alternatives for budget fashionistas like myself.

First we have an almost precisely duplicated Stuart Weitzman version, Capsize, coming in at US$375 (still high):

Also we have the Topshop strapless version with a rose gold metal cap in lieu of the silver, the GABBY Metal Toecap Points, at US$100 (bless their hearts):

Worth it right? Oh yeah.

Paris Fashion Week: My Favourite Shoes of the Runway

It's sometimes easy to forget that fashion shows are not only about music, themes, atmosphere and garments (as thrilling as those combined elements can be). They're also about the shoes - the final destination of our scrutinizing gaze as each look goes by. The works of art that adorn the feet of these models often grasp my attention much more than any other element of a show and this was particularly true of Paris Fashion Week. As each show went by I started compiling detail shots of the shoes I coveted and I am now sharing them with you. There was a lot of attention to detail with the stitching and adornments on these shoes, and I love the metallics! I must say though that the Hussein Chalayan brogues are my absolute favourite because flats win over heels every time for me. We also need to discuss the creation of a word that means cool x 1000 so those brogues can be accurately represented. However, they are all superb creations. Enjoy!

The Joy Of New Shoes

While strolling through the city with my mom a week ago I stumbled upon these golden Steve Madden beauties and had to have them (and to think I was going to head straight home!). Cheers to mom for blessing me with them as an early birthday gift. Didn't wear them on my birthday but I wore them the day after and I am convinced they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

In short - I'm in love.

P.S.: Especially love the little eyelet cut-outs, quite the sucker for details.

Yours,
A.
