Rihanna was out and about NYC on Sunday with friends and was spotted wearing this sheer top to dinner at Da Silvano in the West Village. Had this been any other occasion, say clubbing downtown, running around the city or even having lunch with friends it would've still been an epic faux pas. When you consider that it was out to dinner at a cozy Italian restaurant on a Sunday, tits out - I say nay. I'm generally all for Rihanna's fashion risk-taking and edgy style but this is a nay, naw, NO. Granted, in a lot of the pics you don't see her full breasts/nipples but with this top, there is a 90% chance of full exposure which I'm sure she was aware of as you can see her covering them in some photos.
I've seen, as I'm sure we all have, many sheer looks on the runways with the models exposed but perhaps because it's the norm for fashion shows it doesn't phase me in that context. In the real life context however, people usually wear suitable undergarments like say, a bra.
